She, of course, baked them.

Today I make them in the air fryer, and I can say that this recipe is still my favorite way to cook carrots.

And thanks to the air fryer now I can make this healthy snack in less than 20 minutes.

And I’m sure you will love this simple recipe, and I’ll tell you why, too:

Ingredients

To make this, you’ll need just a handful of simple ingredients:

Fresh Carrots: Choose fresh, firm carrots that are easy to handle and cut into fry-like shapes.

You can also use pre-cut carrots that you find in the grocery store’s fridge section.

Olive oil:  The oil will help achieve that perfect crispness.

Use an olive oil spray, as this helps to coat all the carrots well with oil whilst using very little of it.

Garlic powder: For a touch of aromatic.

Salt and black pepper: Seasonings are crucial to elevating the flavors of your carrot fries.

Easy Air Fryer Carrot Fries – Step by Step Recipe

Step 1

Wash and peel the carrots.

Then, with a sharp knife, slice them into fry-shaped sticks about 1/4 inch thick.

You want them thin enough to get crispy but not so thin that they fall through the fryer basket.

Step 2

Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.

While your air fryer is heating up, in a mixing bowl, toss the carrots with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Make sure each fry is evenly coated.

Step 3

Place your seasoned carrot sticks into the preheated air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them. Cook in batches if necessary.

Cook for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the outsides are nicely browned and crisp.

Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!

Can I Make Carrots Fries In The Oven?

Sure thing! If you don’t have an air fryer, the oven works great too. Toss the carrots with oil, salt, pepper, and the spices you prefer.

Spread them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cook at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until browned and crispy.

Best Tips For Crispier Fries

  • Cut your carrot fries into uniform sizes to ensure even cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd, leave some space between the carrot fries in the air fryer for the best results.
  • To enjoy the crispness, serve them immediately.

Honey Cinnamon Carrot Fries: Toss your carrot fries with brown sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon for a sweet and savory flavor.
