Immersing yourself in a hot bath is a great way to relax, but what would make it even better is the addition of colorful, super-scented DIY bath bombs.

In stores you can find all kinds of different bath bombs, but prices are perhaps a bit too high.

So why not create them at home, with the scent and color we like best?

Making DIY bath bombs is easier than you might think. If you can’t wait to take a nice relaxing bath, then find out how to create these fabulous balls!

Basic bath bombs only need:

  • 1 Big spoon of olive oil
  • 20-30 Drops of scented essential oil at pleasure
  • 2 Drops of food coloring (to be increased for a more intense color)
  • 250 gr of sodium bicarbonate
  • 125 gr of citric acid powder (can be found in pharmacies)
  • 125 gr of coarse bath salt (in herbalist’s shop)
  • 150 gr of corn starch

Add all the powdery ingredients in a bowl, apart from the liquid ingredients, and mix them well.

Combine the powdery mixture with the liquid one (keep a nebulizer with water on hand in case the mixture is too dry).

Once you have obtained a homogeneous compound, with the same consistency as wet sand, we just have to give it the desired shape.

Press the compound well inside the mold and wrap it in a towel, letting it dry for one day.

Boom! Your bath bombs are ready!
