Cut off the stalk. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth.
Prepare the breading.
Whisk the egg in another bowl while you preheat the fryer.
Dip the mushrooms in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs. Repeat twice.
Coat the fryer with oil and place the mushrooms inside, making sure they do not overlap, and drizzle a little oil over them.
Cook the breaded mushrooms, shaking halfway through cooking.
