Brown chorizo in olive oil in a large pot with the garlic.
Remove chorizo from pot.Add potatoes, onion and broth to onion Simmer for 15 minutes until potatoes are soft.
Use immersion blender to blend potatoes, onion and broth until creamy.
Stir in cabbage and chorizo. Cook until cabbage is tender.
